Sudeakka Francis, reigning National Carnival Queen prepares for the 49th Annual Ms. Jaycees Caribbean Queen Pageant.

Antigua and Barbuda will play host once again on Friday, July 30 at Carnival City; with beauty, pose, confidence and intelligence as twelve (12) lovely ladies representing Caribbean countries compete onstage to see who will walk away as this year''s 49th Jaycees Caribbean Queen.  Among the 12 contestants is our very own reigning Miss National Carnival Queen, Sudeakka Francis who is set and ready to represent our twin island federation once more in a regional pageant.

Sudeakka recently returned from St. Vincent where she by no means of surprise captured 1st runner up in the 25th Annual Ms. Carival Queen Pageant.  Ms. Francis who after a stunning performance captured the title National Carnival Queen Pageant 2009-2010 has already lived up to patrons expectations where they state that she would represent the Federation with distinction in regional pageants slated for 2010 Clearly a favorite among the Vincentian commentators, Sudeakka maintained her consistency throughout the night and was praised for her poise, confidence, energy and natural talent.  One commentator described her performing talent as “perfect”. Sudeakka’s National dress was representational of our National Flag with a delightful hint of madras and glitz.  She graced the stage confidently in her tantalizing apple green monokini dubbed Tropical Splendor and her stunning eveningwear entitled, “Exquisite Sunset”.

The Ms. Jaycees Caribbean Queen Pageant holds the unprecedented title of being the longest running pageant in the Caribbean region.  It is a fundraiser project of JCI Antigua (formerly Antiguan Junior Chamber/ Antigua Jaycees) to support its ongoing list of meaningful community development projects.   This year’s pageant will be executed under the theme “Integrating the Caribbean through Pageantry-Embracing the Effects of Climate Change,” along with a stage décor theme of “A Tropical Fantasy”.  Ms. Brenda Albert, chairperson of this year’s show, explained that the focus was selected, in a bid to raise public awareness and action on the devastating effects of climate change, already being recognized within the Caribbean region.

The committee promises an unforgettable show for 2010 and is extending an open invitation to the public to come and see beauty at its best.
