In February 2022, ” Star Trek: Picard ” finally continues. The “Star Trek” series around Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard will also bring back the actor from Android Data in the new episodes on Paramount+ with fan favourite Brent Spiner. Data “demise” in the finale of the premiere of “Star Trek: Picard” will not change that.
“Star Trek” icon Brent Spiner now also hinted which character he will embody in the new episodes of “Picard” (via Inverse ). But beware, the statement comes in the form of a (logical) riddle:Â
“I can say . I’m not Data….I can tell you, I am a member of the Soong family, and that I’m playing no character, I have played before.”
Brent Spiner Played These Members Of The Soong family In “Star Trek” Series.
The above statement sounds very nebulous at first glance, but it makes perfect sense on closer inspection. Season 2 of “Star Trek: Picard” will be about time travel, on which the omnipotent being Q (John de Lancie) sends Jean-Luc Picard and his team.

Therefore, different members of the Soong family could appear in the new episodes of “Star Trek: Picard”. For example, Brent Spiner already played the creator of Data in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” with Noonian Soong. His great-grandfather Arik Soong also played Spiner as a guest star in 3 episodes of “Star Trek: Enterprise”.
But, as mentioned initially, none of these characters come into question, as Brent Spiner has already played them once. Due to the time travel plot, it shouldn’t be challenging to have a completely new member of the Soong family – human or Android – appear in season 2 of “Star Trek: Picard”.
Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Release Date?
There is still no official start date for the third season. After all, not even “Star Trek: Picard” Season 2 has a specific release date. The second season awaits us sometime in February 2022 on Paramount+ in the stream. Season 3 will start around a year later, in spring 2023.
